These shoulder-season months usually offer mild, comfortable weather with lower crowds and prices than the summer and holiday peaks, while avoiding New York’s hottest, most humid period.
January and February are the coldest winter months and commonly the cheapest but least comfortable for weather; July and August bring the hottest, most humid summer conditions; December is a peak holiday month with higher prices and heavier crowds.
