“The Standard, London is a design-led hotel in a restored Brutalist former town hall annex in King’s Cross, directly opposite St Pancras International and King’s Cross stations, with 266 boldly styled rooms and multiple buzzy bars and restaurants.”
The property occupies the former Camden Town Hall Annexe at 10 Argyle Street and retains the original concrete façade while adding three new storeys. A bright red external lift and an upside-down sign serve as distinctive exterior features. The hotel sits within a short walk of Eurostar services, Underground lines, and mainline rail, placing central neighborhoods such as Soho and Covent Garden within easy reach. Guest rooms range from compact crash pads to terrace suites, many with separate sitting areas, premium bedding, air conditioning, and free Wi-Fi. Several suites feature outdoor bathtubs overlooking the station or skyline. Public spaces include Double Standard, an all-day ground-floor restaurant and bar with a beer garden; Isla, focused on coastal-inspired dishes; and The Rooftop, offering 360-degree views and cocktails. The hotel maintains a library, garden areas, and three meeting rooms. It is dog-friendly and affiliated with World of Hyatt, allowing members to earn and redeem points subject to program terms. No swimming pool is available on site.
Mild temperatures, relatively low rainfall, fewer crowds, better award availability, and lower prices during spring and early autumn off-season periods.
Peak season brings significantly higher hotel and flight prices and heavy crowds, including Wimbledon and school holidays; December holiday events also push room rates up despite cool, wet winter conditions.
Cash rates are re-checked by hand; live award pricing comes straight from the program rather than a number we publish here — see methodology.
